FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick clarity on scope, process, and fit before you apply.

What is Blackmont Academy?
Blackmont Academy is a structured professional development programme designed to bridge the gap between learning and real-world consulting. Through rigorous training, practical case work, and applied problem-solving, participants develop the skills, frameworks, and commercial mindset expected of high-performing consultants. Upon successful completion of the programme, top-performing participants will be considered for integration into live Blackmont Consulting client engagements based on their overall performance and assessment results.
How is the programme structured?
The Academy follows a structured progression model, moving participants from foundational consulting concepts to advanced case work and real-world application. Each stage introduces greater analytical complexity, higher performance expectations, and more challenging business scenarios. Progression is based on demonstrated performance, assessments, and overall engagement, not simply programme completion.
Who is the programme designed for?
The programme is designed for students, recent graduates, and early-career individuals seeking to develop consulting capability in a structured and rigorous environment.
Does enrolling in a Blackmont Academy programme guarantee a role or placement?
Participation in Blackmont Academy programmes does not guarantee a role, placement, or engagement. Our programmes are designed to develop consulting capability through structured, applied work. However, top-performing participants may be considered for further opportunities, including involvement in real client projects. These are not guaranteed, are not paid positions, and typically require a commitment of approximately 12 hours per week. Selection is based on performance within the programme and, in some cases, a separate evaluation or interview process conducted by Blackmont Consulting.
Do I need prior consulting experience?
No. The programme is designed to build capability from first principles. What matters is your ability to think analytically and engage with structured problem solving.
How much time should I expect to commit?
Participants should expect to dedicate approximately 15-18 hours per week to training, case work, assessments, and independent study. While requirements may vary slightly by programme, consistent commitment is essential for successful progression through the Academy.
How is performance evaluated?
Performance is evaluated through a combination of multiple-choice assessments, short-answer questions, and long-form case-based responses. Participants must achieve a minimum overall score of 80% to be eligible for consideration for live Blackmont Consulting client engagements. All participants who successfully complete a programme receive a Certificate of Completion, with their final grade clearly stated on the certificate.
For how long will I have access to the Academy resources?
Participants retain access to all Academy learning materials, resources, and programme content for 12 months from the date of enrolment. This allows ample time to revisit key concepts, review frameworks, and reinforce learning throughout the year.
What score is required to be considered for a live consulting project?
Participants must achieve a minimum overall score of 80% to be eligible for consideration for integration into live Blackmont Consulting client engagements.
How does Blackmont Academy protect my personal data?
We take privacy seriously. Personal information is used only for programme administration, assessments, certification, and participant communications. Participant data is stored securely and handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws and our Privacy Policy.
